Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) is a type of AI using which human cognitive abilities can be replicated in software and any task a human can do can be performed.

AGI can learn from experiences similar to humans because of its sensory perception and motor skills. It can easily understand reason, concepts, solve problems, and complete complex tasks without human assistance. Often it is depicted in science fiction movies. It has the potential to revolutionize industries and tackle challenging problems in agriculture, healthcare, and space exploration.

However, it is a significant technological challenge to develop AGI that requires significant advancements. Although, current artificial intelligence solutions or narrow AI technology has not still reached the level of AGI, developers are working on it to make it a real world reality.

Abstract thinking, Background knowledge, Cause and effect, Common sense and Transfer learning are key features of artificial general Intelligence that can significantly define its capabilities. AGI could excel in tasks that requires quick calculations and complex problem-solving by combining the flexible thinking and reasoning skills of humans with deep learning and computational power of machines. AGI-based systems can save time, money, and lives by consistently delivering higher-quality results in the fields like surgery, medical diagnosis, and transportation. However, there is a potential for increased unemployment and poverty if AGI gradually takes over human tasks.
