Blended learning, also known as hybrid learning is an educational model in which in-person instruction is combined with online learning methods. Students can watch videos, play interactive games, submit coursework, and take quizzes online in addition to attending face-to-face classes in a brick-and-mortar building away from school.
The blended learning is valued by instructors for its flexibility and ability to create a student-centric environment for children and adults. Teachers can deliver personalized instruction to home environments and maintain organized educational records with blended learning.
Learning management systems (LMS) can be used to deliver blended learning. There are specialized software for K-12 learning solutions and corporate LMS, which provides a centralized platform for courses and training.
The method of teaching vary widely based on the type of content and the learning propensities of students. Face-to-face, Enriched virtual learning, Flipped classroom, Gamification, Flex model, and Self-blend are different types of blended learning.
More flexibility, better record keeping, lower costs, better engagement and increased reach are some of the benefits of blended learning. Organizations need to ask employees about their preferences, tie content to organizational goals, think about learning outcomes, run the course as a pilot, and choose the right instructor to deliver important information with the best results.
