Cloud backups, also known as online or remote backups, are a way to store and back up data in remote or cloud-based servers. Cloud backups are stored electronically on remote servers rather than using physical hardware connected to a device and can be accessed from the device in any location.
The server itself may be owned by the business or supported by a third-party provider. Typically, it is in a different location from wherever the device is based. Web browsers are used by most cloud backups to both backup and restore data. Companies can either use a public provider or their own private cloud services that are internal to the business. Both are blended by hybrid cloud storage software, with on-site private cloud backups for the most confidential information and public cloud backups for other data.
Cloud backups can range from partial to full copies of important data. Snapshot, Full, Differential and Incremental are the most common types of cloud backups.
The primary goal of any good backup solution should be to recover the data of users in the event of the original being lost or compromised. Therefore, every effective cloud backup software should have scalable storage levels, emergency recovery options, encryption and security and 24/7 customer support.
Cloud backup can help increased accessibility and availability, enhanced security, more effective data recovery and reduced costs.
